Arish Homeschool- The Power Of Education In Your Own Hands

The journey TO homeschooling was natural one for my family. As a teacher I believed that my students deserved so much more than was possible for me to give them. With 25+ students in every class I found my self struggling to keep every child on the same page. I noticed that some students needed more time whilst others needed to move on to something new on a daily basis. After creating interactive and engaging daily lessons, I was able to keep a steady rhythm in every class. I took note that every child was capable of so much more, if only I could dedicate my all to them individually. That is when I decided that future me, would home-school if I ever had children of my own.

Arish Homeschool was born when my eldest turned four. I faced the reality of homeschooling, completely thrown off by how different it was than what I had anticipated. Our journey THROUGH homeschooling is still on going and we have gotten much better at understanding learning styles and their needs.

2019 was a monumental year for us as I began helping other moms home-school their children. I loved being able to help ease them into a hands on learning experience. My favourite part was watching the children thrive and fall in love with learning. I officially named my adventure as “Arish” which means “to build something great” in Arabic. I intend to do just that: build something great.

I want to change the way we look at educating our children. I believe there is more to learning then sitting in a classroom and memorizing facts, or testing students on paper. Children should be able to understand topics and be confident in their ability to learn. I want to be a part of building that confidence.

The boxes I have created provide a fun way for kids to learn at home. They get all the materials and lessons delivered to them at home, this way they can be excited for new materials to arrive every month (who doesn’t enjoy getting fun boxes with things just for you?). The materials provided each month are intended help them be engaged with the Unit/lessons they cover that month.
